## About PADD 1B (Central Atlantic) propane stocks

Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania make up the Central Atlantic, the most populous of the three East Coast storage areas this site tracks and the one with the most varied supply. Import and storage terminals around the New York Harbor and the Delaware River sit alongside gas processing tied to the nearby Marcellus and Utica fields, so this region draws on both Appalachian production and the Gulf Coast pipeline network rather than one supply line alone. Stocks build over the warmer months and draw down as heating demand rises, the same calendar the rest of the East Coast follows. Because this sub-region carries the biggest share of East Coast demand, its five-year band tends to move the whole PADD 1 reading, and a level below normal here is felt across the region.
