Mont Belvieu propane spot settled at $0.723/gal for the week ended August 14, up 7.4% on the week, per EIA data. The hub remains 4% below the 5-year median. US propane exports ran at 2.041 million barrels per day, 46% above the 5-year median, per the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report.
- PADD 1A (New England) propane stocks reached 0.8 million barrels, up 50% week over week from the prior week and 77% above the 5-year median, per the EIA WPSR.
- US propane demand (product supplied) ran at 0.684 million barrels per day, down 8% on the week and 29% below the 5-year median, per EIA.
- US propane imports came in at 0.105 million barrels per day, up 4% on the week and 31% above the 5-year median, per EIA's WPSR.
- PADD 2 (Midwest) propane imports ran at 0.040 million barrels per day, up 8% on the week and 74% above the 5-year median, per EIA.
- PADD 4-5 (Rockies and West Coast) propane imports came in at 0.049 million barrels per day, 63% above the 5-year median and down 8% on the week, per EIA.
107.0 million barrels of primary propane stocks yield 152 days of supply at the trailing four-week product-supplied average of 0.705 million barrels per day, per the EIA WPSR as of August 14. EIA's Short-Term Energy Outlook puts US propane/propylene inventories at 103.8 million barrels at end-December 2026. PADD 4-5 (Rockies and West Coast) stocks are the only region sitting below the 5-year median, at 4.8 million barrels, 1% below.
